We’re going to build a real, working AI-powered LinkedIn outreach system — without needing to know code, without spending thousands, and without sounding like a pushy robot.
What This Will Do
We’re going to build a system that:
- Find leads on LinkedIn based on your niche.
- Generates personalized messages using ChatGPT
- Sends those messages in a way that doesn’t get you flagged
- Tracks replies and helps you follow up
Most importantly, it’ll be something you could sell to others (freelancers, coaches, consultants, agencies) and make real money.
What Stops Most People (Let’s Kill the Fear)
Let’s be real. Most people don’t build this kind of thing because they think:
- “I’m not technical enough.”
- “I don’t want to be spammy.”
- “I don’t know what tools to use.”
- “Everyone else is already doing it.”
These are valid feelings. But here’s the truth:
You don’t need to be a coder. You need to be a connector.
If you know how to:
- Spot a good LinkedIn profile
- Write like a human.
- Use tools like Notion, ChatGPT, and Google Sheets…
Then you already have what it takes.
Build Your AI Cold Outreach Flow
Step 1: Define Who You’re Reaching
This is 90% of the game.
Forget “startup founders”.
Try:
SaaS founders with fewer than 20 employees in Canada building productivity apps.
Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator or a basic LinkedIn search to find profiles. Even 5 good targets a day is plenty to start.
Step 2: Craft a Prompt That Works
This is your secret sauce.
Open ChatGPT and write a prompt like:
You are a LinkedIn growth expert. Write a casual, respectful, personalized message to a SaaS founder named {{First Name}}, based in {{Location}}{{City}}, who just launched a tool called {{Product Name}}. Mention their recent post about it and ask if they’d be open to connecting to explore potential growth collaborations.
Save that. You’ll reuse it. You can even make a custom GPT with this baked in. No code is needed.
Feed ChatGPT Your Leads
Export a list of leads into a Google Sheet:
- Column A: Name
- Column B: City
- Column C: Product
- Column: D: Recent LinkedIn post topic
Use GPT for Sheets, or copy-paste into ChatGPT manually at first. It’ll generate custom messages for each row.
Step 4: Send the Messages (Ethically)
You’ve got 3 options:
- Manual (start here — safer, more human)
- Semi-automated (use Waalaxy or Dripify)
- Fully automated (careful with this — LinkedIn can get cranky)
If you’re sending 5–10 messages/day, manual is better. Less likely to get flagged. More likely to get replies.
Step 5: Track Replies and Follow-ups
Open a simple Notion database:
- Name
- Message Sent?
- Replied?
- Booked a Call?
- Notes
Set a reminder to follow up after 3–5 days with a second AI-written message.
Example follow-up prompt:
Hey {{First Name}}, Just wanted to bump this — understand if now’s not the right time. If it ever makes sense to chat growth ideas, I’m around!
Lessons No One Tells You
- Everyone hates spam — even you. So don’t build a spam machine. Build an empathy engine.
- Don’t rely on full automation early on. Human review saves your account.
- Personality wins. A message that says, “Hey, I love your post on burnout recovery — real talk!” gets replies. Be you, not a sales script?
- Cold DMs are like first dates. Don’t propose on message one. Just ask for a coffee chat or connection.
